Vessel Husbanding  
Coordinates vessel arrival and departure.

Coordinates pre-arrival matters with terminal
and/or stevedores, vendors and bunker suppliers.

Arranges for vessel arrival by ordering the
following services:

  • Pilotage
  • Towage
  • Mooring
  • U.S. Customs
  • U.S. Immigration (if foreign)
  • U.S.D.A.

Attends to vessel's requirements during port
stay, such as:

  • Crew changes
  • Medical
  • Arrange for repairs
  • Ship's spares
  • Ship's stores

    Attends to cargo loading/discharging, ensuring
    terminal adheres to masters/chief officers
    pre-stow/discharge plan.

Keeps principal advised of vessel arrival,
production activities and completion details.

Arranges for vessel's departure by ordering:

  • Pilotage
  • Towage
  • Un-Mooring
  • Ensuring vessel documents are on-board with clearance to next port.

    Advises all parties of vessel's departure/ETA next port.

Ensures all relevant documents (loading/discharge production reports, notice of readiness, statement of facts, discrepancy reports, etc.) are completed and forwarded to proper parties (mainly principal).

If bunkering, completes bunker fuel tax exemption report and files with State Board of Equalization.
