Vice President of Line Service and Operations

The position of Vice President of Line Service and Operations, located in South Plainfield, New Jersey directs and oversees the Liner Service Operations for the company including international business development; preparation of detailed strategic analysis to strengthen company’s competitive position; develop appropriate market steps to expand business market penetration; review and analyze sales activity reports; develop customer relationships with import/export customers of North, South and Central America; oversee the analysis of current market trends and formulate predictions based on competitive statistical market data; forecast future marketing trends; plan and supervise cargo booking activities in compliance with federal regulations; maximize costs efficiencies by equipment control management; oversee container stock levels; implement and administer reductions in inland cost; administer services contracts, negotiate general rate increases and surcharges in compliance with the Federal Maritime Commission; oversee booking, logistics and documentation system in compliance with South American principals; together with agents in South and Central America, analyze new business opportunities and make proposals to South American principals; promote international sales; direct business pro-forma budgeting and evaluation of P/L projects.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree or the equivalent in management, marketing or a related field, plus three years of prior experience in management within the shipping industry, including the application of customs regulations and performance of market and sales trends analyses.
